2011 Pride Festival
Join Us!
Wichita Pride is the centerpiece of a month-long celebration of the uniqueness and rich diversity of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) community. It is a time to remember the Stonewall Riots, which happened in New York City in 1969, and is generally recognized as the beginning of the movement in the quest for Human Rights. Locally, Wichita Pride is led by the Wichita Pride Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization who is dedicated to improving the quality of life for and visibility of the members of our community. Wichita Pride, is now a three-day extravaganza on in downtown Wichita that has grown from 800 people in 2007 to over 2,500 in 2010 (according to City of Wichita estimates).
Friday, June 24, 6PM – 11PM, Pride in the Street –Wichita's largest LGBT block party: Join you and 2000 of your closet friends at this years Pride in the Street! There is nothing like Dancing, Drinking and Kicking off the 2011 Festival.
Saturday, June 25, 10AM – 11PM, Pride Festival Featurning hot local artists, National Recording Artist Stars Go Dim, Ms Melinda Ryder, Former Miss Gay Missouri, from Kansas City, Missouri and Charity Case, Former Miss Gay America, from Dallas, Texas performing a tribute to the late Fritz Capone.
Sunday, June 26, 10AM – 8PM, Pride Festival Featuring National Recording Artist Ms. Crystal Waters, also featurning Ms Melinda Ryder, from Kansas City, Missouri and Charity Case, from Dallas, Texas performing a tribute to the late Fritz Capone.

Beverages
A wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available. Beverages purchased at WPI Beverage Booths may only be purchased via drink tickets. Food and Drink tickets may be purchased for $1.25 each at a variety of locations within the festival grounds. Over 21 Wristbands are required to consume any alcoholic beverages. You must be 21 years old and possess valid ID in order to purchase, consume or possess any alcoholic beverages.
Exhibitors
This is YOUR time to be celebrated, entertained and informed by visiting hundreds of exhibitor tents at the Wichita Pride Festival here for your enjoyment. Take advantage of one of the largest gatherings of local LGBT community groups, social organizations, artisans, activities and specialized businesses in the Greater Wichita Area supporting of the PRIDE family.
First Aid
The large RED CROSS on the festival map marks the location of the First Aid Station. Medical teams will also be available at the main entrance, as well as throughout the festival lot, and can be identified by their uniforms and medical insignias.
Pets
Due to Health Department rules, ABSOLUTELY NO PETS are allowed on the festival site. The ONLY exception is for certified assisting animals. This rule applies to all pets – exotic as well as domestic.
Safety
City of Wichita Police, private security and volunteer "safety" monitors will be in abundance and constantly roving the festival site. In the event a problem should arise, please ask for assistance or go to the Safety headquarers located in the Land Office located near the main stage.
ADA Accessibility
Wichita Pride, Inc. and Cowtown Museme is dedicated to ensuring full access to all individuals, regardless of disability. Individuals requiring assistance should visit the INFORMATION BOOTH during the event.

The INFORMATION BOOTH will be located just inside the festival entrance. and at the Hotel near the main stage
